Homestead, FL is located in Miami-Dade County and was established in 1913, which makes it the second oldest city in Miami-Dade County besides Miami. It is an estimated 45 minute drive to Downtown Miami for those that will be commuting to the Miami business district. It is a major agricultural center nestled between two large parks: Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park. Homestead is a very small city, with city limits about 4 miles. One tourist attraction is the mysterious Coral Castle built by a man jilted in love. It was said that he built the castle with magic. Some teenage boys saw him building it and said the stones moved like hydrogen balloons. It took him over 28 years to build the castle, from 1923 to 1951. Another place of interest is the Fruit and Spice Park containing more than 500 varieties of fruit, nut, and spice trees. Black Point Marina is located in the area as well for those that have a boat, or are looking for boat access.
